Every Beat Counts: UNI Charity’s Mission to Heal Swaransh and Others Like Him

Greetings from Uni Charity!

We are proud to share the inspiring story of our young warrior, Swaransh Thakur, and how, through our initiative, we are working to eliminate the lack of proper treatment caused by financial constraints and recurring infections.

Since birth, Swaransh has faced significant health challenges. When he was just a few months old, his parents, concerned about his poor growth, took him to a private hospital. There, doctors informed the family that Swaransh had a heart defect. Medication was prescribed, and according to his parents, he remained asymptomatic until the age of one.

However, around his first birthday, Swaransh began experiencing recurrent infections, including rapid breathing, chest congestion, fever, and coughing. Over the past year, he had to be hospitalized three times. Eventually, he was referred to us by AIIMS Bilaspur, who connected with our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Manish Gupta.

Uni Charity stepped in and brought Swaransh and his family to Delhi, where we fully funded his treatment. On May 11, 2025, Swaransh underwent a successful valve closure surgery. During the procedure, he also required a blood transfusion. Thanks to our incredible community, we were able to find donors in time. We sincerely thank each and every donor for their invaluable support.

Today, Swaransh is doing well and receiving appropriate follow-up care. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Uni Charity team and to the Child Health Foundation for their unwavering support during this difficult journey. A special thanks to Dr. Manish for introducing us to Swaransh and making this possible.

We wish Swaransh a bright, healthy, and happy future. Uni Charity remains committed to helping more children in need, and we pledge to continue our mission of removing barriers to proper medical treatment caused by financial hardship.
